Can you tell if you have genital warts through a blood test?

warts
Sarah asked:

I would like to know if you can detect warts this way. Also, once they are treated, and the wart is no longer visible, can the disease still be transmitted to a sexual partner?

A blood test is virtually the only way to know for sure if you have genital warts (or herpes) and it will also tell you which type you've been infected with.

Generally once you have the condition it's treatable but you will always carry the disease in your blood, and yes you can pass it on to any future partners. Usually most commonly passed on when you have an outbreak, eg visible or open sores.

If you suspect you have genital warts, go to your doc and get checked out and treated.

i completely agree w/ the 1st person's answer.
U can detect genital warts thru a blood test. It is a lower risk to transmitt the warts to another partner when it is not visible as oppose to when it is visible… so there is still a chance u can pas s it on since you will carry the disease for ur life time.
i hope there's a cure for it sometime in the near by future.

There is no blood test for genital warts. Unlike the herpes virus, HPV only lives in the dermal layers of the skin. It is not present in the blood. The skin must be biopsied to determine if HPV is present. I find it quite shocking that so many people are ill-informed, and answered this question incorrectly.
